After 6 years...Sierra's first show!!

Ladies and Gents....we've finally done it! This past weekend (Sunday), Sierra and I went to our very first horse show together (well, it wasn't my first horse show, but it was hers, and ours together as a team!). For those who don't know the background, I adopted Sierra in June of 2005 as a yearling. She was a completely wild mustang and I've done all of her training myself. She was injured in 2009 and had to take an entire year off. After getting a clean bill of health in 2010, we resumed training, and finally, finally, made it to a show :).

We started at a dressage show hoping it would be a nice, easy introduction to the show scene, and it was! We rode two dressage tests: Intro B (just walk/trot) and Intro C (walk/trot/canter). Check it out :)

Sierra was amazing for being a newbie to the show ring, and we scored a 63.1%, and 3rd place in our Intro B test and a totally awesome 69%, and second place in our Intro C test. Her very first ribbons! I'm such a proud horse Mom right now :)

We're continuing our showing journey with a small hunter show this coming Saturday, followed by a bit of cross country schooling. It's slow going, but we're finally getting out there! I'm so excited. Could I have a more awesome horse? I don't think so! <3

Awsome! I love mustangs! I have a curly horse and an Appendix QH. I have been showing for 3 years but my horse show 2 weeks ago I did my first 3-gait classes with a fat prego Trakenar haha!

Your horses are very pretty :D
